This chapter begins in the evening of the last chapter.
Alice woke up...in the bath tub. Yeah. She glanced around. The room was empty and the house was quiet. She could tell by the light streaming in through the window that it was about five o'clock in the evening.
Slowly, Alice dragged herself out of the bathtub. Her head was pounding, she was dizzy and her vision was blurred. She knew that she had a hangover. Maybe she had ended up having more than one or two drinks. What were the drinks she mixed again? Vodka? Rum? Wine? She couldn't remember. They were all just a blur of coloured bottles.
Alice looked at herself in the mirror. Her eyes were dull and bloodshot, her hair was a mess and her skin didn't look to good either. And that wasn't even talking about her make up! How was she going to explain this?! Well, it turns out she didn't need to.
Alice slowly walked down the stairs, her shoes clunking heavily against the wood. She had to walk carefully so she wouldn't trip. Her headache was killing her. She rubbed her temple as she reached the bottom of the stairs. She hoped that this feeling didn't last long.
"Where have you been?!" Her mother began attacking her as she reached the bottom of the stairs.
"Oh, I was..."
"You've been drinking! How dare you! You should be arrested for this! You are grounded! And don't even think about calling your father because he doesn't care!"
Something inside of Alice snapped. She knew a few self-taught self defence moves that she had learnt for school and it was now that she used one. Her foot shot up into the air and collided with her mother's face.
"Alice!" Her mother screamed. Alice raised her arms to protect herself as her mother's fist shot out. Her arms still didn't stop the sharp pain she felt.
It was then that her father came running down the stairs. "Stop, both of you!: And ran in between them. But it was too late. Alice had been through too much. She pushed her father out of the way and ran out of the house. Tears streamed down her face as she ran out onto the street. She would have to find her own life now.
